Keen joggers might want to make sure that any valuables they take with them on their run are covered by their home insurance policy, it has been claimed.
Andrew Lowe, head of Direct Line Home Insurance, explained that things such as mobile phones and MP3 players could easily be lost or damaged.
He also advised the people back up their phone numbers and songs before going out for a run.
Mr Lowe said: "While insurance will cover the replacement of the item, these have a greater personal worth than their sale value."
He added that ensuring home insurance polices covered these items means that people can concentrate on enjoying their run.
Last week, David Rochester, head of underwriting for Halifax Home Insurance, explained that people should ensure that any expensive items they have in their gardens are covered under the terms of their policy.
He said these items often prove attractive to opportunistic thieves.
